Join us on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 as we celebrate World Lindy Hop Day and enjoy an enchanting night of music by Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils.
Join the dance, or just sit and enjoy the authentic 1930s/1940s swing era music. Fun for all!
Dress to impress (not mandatory)! We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor.
The Band: Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils
We’re thrilled to welcome Martin Loomer’s 14-piece swing band orchestra back to the dance floor! Featuring music by Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, Benny Carter, Count Basie and many more! This is one of the best bands in town for swing dancers and Lindy Hoppers.Â
WLHD Saturday Dance includes:
- 1 beginner swing dance lesson (no partner needed; all levels of experience welcome) –taught by Mandi Gould and Osman Omar
- Live 14-piece Big Band (Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils)
- DJ’d swing music band breaks
- Cash bar and bottled water (no water cooler); credit card accepted
SATURDAY, JUNE 1st SCHEDULE
6:30 p.m.: Doors open!
6:45 p.m.: Beginner swing dance lesson starts
8 p.m. sharp: Martin Loomer’s Orange Devils play, with DJ dance breaks in between sets
11:40 p.m.-midnight: DJ spins/swings us out 🙂

** NOTE: Toronto World Lindy Hop Day (TOWLHD) is a fundraiser for Toronto Lindy Hop – a not-for-profit organization. Money from this event will go back to the community. Stay tuned for exciting updates on what TLH has planned in 2024!Â
REFUND POLICY
Tickets to World Lindy Hop Day (WLHD) are final sale, however they can be transferred to another person if requested in writing by e-mail to info@torontolindyhop.com by the original ticket holder at least two days before the event.Â
An exception will be made if a ticket holder is feeling unwell due to COVID-19, presumed COVID-19, or any other illness. In this case, a full refund will be available to the ticket holder. Please keep in mind that WLHD is a fundraiser for Toronto Lindy Hop (TLH). If you must stay home because you are unwell, please consider donating your ticket costs to TLH instead of requesting a refund if you are able.

This Band does not play big dance spaces very often (very rare), so this one of the best opportunities to see them in this environment.
Venue: Cecil Community Centre
Cecil Community Centre is a not-for-profit, multi-service neighbourhood centre that offers a broad range of recreational, educational, social, cultural and capacity-building programs to local area residents. For almost 40 years, the Centre has played a vital role in the lives of community members of all ages.
The Dance Floor: The floors are excellent for dancing!
